December 2025 Chapter Meeting

Join us for lunch at Farm Bureau as we swear in the 2026 officers and hear from Dr. Claire Muselman, Assistant Professor of Practice at Drake University and Chief Operating Officer at WorkersCompensation.com. Claire's presentation is on the topic of Neuroscience in Insurance: Empathy & Decision-Making. This session explores how neuroscience influences the way people make insurance decisions — and how empathy, communication, and emotional intelligence can transform client interactions. We’ll look at how the brain processes trust, fear, and security, the role of cognitive bias in decision-making, and how understanding the emotional drivers behind insurance choices can elevate service, sales, and claims outcomes. Participants will leave with practical strategies to build stronger connections, communicate more clearly, and create more human-centered experiences in their daily work.

Lunch will be held in the auditorium. Please park in the guest parking lot near the main entrance and check in at the security desk. For those joining virtually, the presentation will start around 11:30.

Food Drive

As we approach the holiday season, our chapter is giving back to the community by hosting a food collection for the less fortunate. We invite all members to participate by bringing non-perishable food and essential household items to our December Chapter Meeting.

Your generosity will help support local families in need through WayPoint Care. The most requested items include:

Food Items:

• Flour, sugar, and cooking oil
• Cereal and oatmeal
• Canned or dried fruit and vegetables
• Canned tuna or chicken
• Peanut butter and jam
• Bags of rice or beans
• Dried pasta and pasta sauce

Other Essentials:

• Laundry detergent
• Body soap and shampoo
• Toilet paper and paper towels
• Personal hygiene products
• Baby food, diapers, and wipes
