Deccan Traps is an exploration of lyrics, artistry, and musical genres led by multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Jasper Hobbs. Throughout its existence, this group has been defined by its unique, genre-bending feel, and the ability to reinvent itself while maintaining a core sound. With each song, this group shares a new piece of itself to its audience, aiming to bring true authenticity from the musicians onstage.

Alexander Gallows is a singer-songwriter based in the DC and Maryland music scene. A native to the area, Gallows discovered his musical talents early in his youth. Playing the licks of Hendrix, mimicking the riffs of Led Zeppelin, strumming the progressions of Bob Dylan and harmonizing to the melodies of Simon & Garfunkel were just some of the ways Gallows built his knowledge as a player and songwriter. Whether performing solo, with his acoustic duo Gallows & Curl, or amped up with the Gallows Group, Alexander brings a modern flair to a retro sound, highlighting his lyricism and storytelling against intricate guitar playing.

Band leader Nayan Bhula can't shake Rock N Roll. Hearing those first few notes of "Dazed and Confused" as a middle schooler led to a three decade plus spiral. Looking like your "Dad's accountant or doctor" (actual after show quote), he’s spent decades in the local scene and touring, tearing down those stereotypes of rock n roll. The new band leans on his post-punk, indie rock roots, taking inspiration from DC punk and an unwavering devotion to classic rock n roll, and the 80s New Wave he grew up on.
