About this Event

DEC SFQC at WestEd are pleased to present a special screening of the 1993 film The Joy Luck Club, a story about four Chinese-American women and their mothers based on the novel by Bay area author Amy Tan.

The film explores the intergenerational transmission of attachment within the context of complex individual and family stories. It invites us to reflect on our own experiences as well as the intersection of race/ethnicity, gender, culture, and identity. The screening will be followed by a brief discussion facilitated by WestEd.

Join us for this moving and thought-provoking event! Concessions are provided by SFQC.
