Debut Art Show: Denomin8r's "I Am Cutting In A Computer"

Chance Studios and Push Collage is excited to present I Am Cutting In A Computer, the debut solo exhibition in SoHo by Brooklyn-based visual artist Denomin8r. The exhibit will be open from May 30 through June 2, 2024 at 55 Bond Street, New York, NY.

The inspiration for Denomin8r's work came from an impulse to digitize analog collaging techniques with computer code. Initially inspired by the autostereogram illusion, Denomin8r built a custom Python library to manipulate visible boundaries between interference patterns.

The artist states: "As the program consumed and transformed at rates far exceeding what any typical human could produce, I myself became the glutton for new discoveries, since I was no longer constrained by time, resources, or energy like I am in the material world. In that way I became an extension of the machine, eager to decompose all icons and idols in the search for new fertile ideas. And this revealed to me some bizarre realities about consumerism in a digital ecosystem."

I Am Cutting In A Computer is free and open to the public. The exhibit is on view from May 30 through June 2 from 12-8 PM, with a special Opening Reception on Thursday May 30 from 7-9 PM. Denomin8r also welcomes visitors to a High Tea celebration on Sunday June 2 from 1-3 PM, with tea and locally made pastries.
