DEBRA DEVI blends soulful vocals with expressive, soaring guitar work that’s earned her comparisons to Ana Popovic, Samantha Fish and Susan Tedeschi.
American Blues Scene calls Devi “one of today's top female blues/rock guitarists.” JamBase says she’s "a supersonic fret-burner who also writes hauntingly memorable songs." Vintage Guitar praises Devi’s “Hendrix-style jams and atmospheric slide guitar.”
Her live EP Jamification Station Vol. 1 captured her at full throttle, hitting #5 on the Relix/Jambands.com radio chart and staying on there for three months.
Based in Jersey City, Devi has played festivals from Montana to Florida, and opened for Fantastic Cat, Jesse Malin, Ana Popovic, Marshall Crenshaw, Willie Nile and more. Her band includes Kevin Jones (bass), John Roccesano (drums) and Dave Paarlberg (keys).
Devi’s passion for the blues inspired her to write The Language of the Blues: From Alcorub to Zuzu (foreword by Dr. John), which won the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award.
