This class offers a gentle but practical introduction to death witchery—the branch of witchcraft concerned with spirits, ancestral energy, and the magic that lingers after life has passed. Calavera, a real practicing death witch, take you with her to explore how the dead continue to interact with the living world, how their energy changes over time, and how witches can work with that presence respectfully and intentionally.
Topics include:
The basics of spirit work and communicating with the dead
Learning the difference between mediumship and necromancy
Understanding the energetic residue left behind after death
Ethical and respectful approaches to working with remains both human and animal
How bones, ash, and other remains function as magical anchors
Grounding, protection, and consent when practicing death magic
This class treats death not as something frightening, but as a natural transition—one that carries memory, power, and wisdom. Death witchery is approached as caretaking work: listening, honoring, and working gently with what endures.
As part of the class, a real human skull and remains will be present. Participants will have the opportunity to see, touch, and hold the skull in a guided, respectful setting. This is offered as a chance to experience the physical and energetic reality of human remains, and to better understand how witches connect with bones as tools, teachers, and companions in magic. Participation in this portion is optional, and the space will be calm, grounded, and supportive.
This class is suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike—especially those curious about spirit work, ancestral practices, or bone-centered witchcraft.
Cost: $20
All materials provided. Bring curiosity, respect, and an open mind.
