Death Cafes started over 20 years ago in Europe and regularly meet in over 90 countries. Now it is time to bring these open minded conversations closer to home.
Did I read that right you ask? Yes you did, Death Cafes.
Death Cafes are group directed meetings that flow without judgement. Here, we will openly talk without an agenda about all things death.
The belief is, the more we talk about it, the more it is normalized so the stigma and avoidance associated with it isn't so isolating. What better way to appreciate our finite lives?
Death Cafes are not grief counseling or a grief support group, but they are an honest opportunity to share and learn without being lead to any particular conclusions. Just open, respectful conversations about all things mortality.
Feel free to join us for any of the monthly meetings at Lakeview Square Mall inside of Horrocks & Company in Battle Creek. They will continuously run the 1st Monday evenings of every month from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Come when you can. There is no cost to attend and participation is optional.
