Lovell FHCC is one of the sites where you can bring your unused medications on the Drug Enforcement Agency's annual Drug Take Back Day. Our medication bin outside the main pharmacy is available all the time, but on this particular Saturday, the doors will stay open, and medications can be dropped into it during these hours.*
Come in the valet parking entrance to our Ambulatory Care Clinic, Bldg. 133EF (circle drive, where there are four flagpoles and a large gold anchor). Park in the adjacent four-story parking garage. Once you walk in, turn left to find the bin outside the main pharmacy.
Maybe Saturday availability is just what you need to clean out your medicine cabinet and finally get rid of a few things? Did you know, it's not safe or advised to just throw your medications away?
DEA Take Back Day is a national initiative organized by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to provide a safe, convenient, and responsible means of disposing of unused or expired prescription medications.
The event aims to prevent drug misuse and reduce the risk of prescription drug abuse by offering a no-questions-asked drop-off service at various locations across the country. By participating, individuals can help protect their communities and the environment.
*NOTE: You may also drop off your medications the day before, Friday, April 24, and talk to staff at our information table, just inside the main entrance, 9 a.m. to Noon. Learn about many important topics related to the day, and talk to the subject matter experts from pharmacy, mental health, pain management, suicide prevention and more.
