Coming May 2026 - An original dance production by Downtown Dance Conservatory: Sisters of the Moonlight & Tide. A beautiful performance with classical ballet and contemporary style dance, dazzling scenery, and many original costumes designed by DDC.
A story representing the opposition in our nature - longing for the other side, only to realize everything we need is right within our own power and strength. Two sisters fall into their own new destiny - destiny is rarely what it seems. ✨
Downtown Dance Conservatory is Gadsden's premiere classical ballet studio with 23 years of dance education and is registering NOW for our next dance season with class openings for ages 3 & up.
The story starts where two young sisters enter a hidden treasure cove in their fishing village on the night of the full-moon. They are starstruck by the bright moonlight peeking into the cove, and the two sisters were quickly transformed into mermaids. The curse follows them throughout their lives, and each evening at midnight they transform into mermaids only to become their worldly selves again at sunrise. Follow their story as they find their curse is actually just an opportunity… 🌊🌅🚢
