• EVENT INFO •
This is our end of the season event, and to celebrate Halloween we invite attendees to join us in costume. Players who come in costume will be entered into a drawing for a free blaster!
This DCNC event is split into two parts:
1:00PM - 2:00PM
The High-Power Hour
This one hour play period is reserved for competitive players to enjoy fast-paced, single hit elimination games with their higher velocity blasters, that are allowed to fire as fast as 300 FPS.
Since these blasters can utilize higher FPS rates than what we permit during the Regular Gameplay play period, younger players will want to be cautious about joining in on this harder hitting gameplay.
2:00PM - 4:00PM
Regular Gameplay
For two full hours players will enjoy a variety of objective-based games like Capture the Flags, Mayday, Blaster-Ball, Medic, Convoy, Tower Defense, Rescue, Maverick, Control Points, Swords & Shields, Hatchery, Dollar Bucks, Tank Battle, Humans Versus Zombies, and more. During this play period, blaster velocity will be limited to 150 FPS.
• LOCATION INFO •
We will be playing in the field along Mill St, in front of Middletown's Hoffer Park. This field provides a beautiful, large, natural space to play in, with relatively even terrain and a number of trees for shade and cover. Public restrooms are available in the middle of Hoffer Park. Event spectators can sit along Mill Street's sidewalk, but we ask that everyone in attendance keep the sidewalk clear of themselves and their possessions.
• PARKING INFO •
Free parking is available along Mill Street and within Hoffer Park. If possible, please park vehicles along Mill Street, facing the park entrance, to help block any player's items from going into the street during gameplay.
• PARTICIPATION INFO •
- All participants and attendees are reminded that this is a family-friendly event, where we ask that you use appropiate words and actions. Anyone that cannot respect this aspect of our club and its events, or anyone that is purposely creating a dangerous and or negative gameplay experience for other players will be asked to leave the event.
- Because of the complexity of the game and event rules, players must be at least 7 years old to play.
- All players under 13 years of age must have a parent or guardian present with them at the event in order to participate.
- The basic rules of the event will be explained at the beginning of the event, so please don't be late if you're new.
- Each game will have its rules explained before we begin the game.
- All players will be asked to participate in periodic "dart sweeps", where they help pick up the foam ammunition and other items used during gameplay. The more players help, the more games we get to play.
- All players will need to bring their own eye protection.
- All players will need to bring their own brightly colored foam ammunition.
- All players will need to bring their own Nerf, Dart Zone, Adventure Force, or other brand of foam-firing equipment.
- All foam-firing equipment MUST have a bright orange barrel tip.
- Soft, squishy foam throwables and sock "grenades" are permitted, but cannot be larger than a Softball.
- Nerf HYPER blasters are NOT permitted because they are too difficult to thoroughly clean up after.
- 3D Printed blasters are allowed, as long as they adhere to the FPS restrictions of the play period they are being used in.
- Non-Nerf brand blasters are allowed, as long as they adhere to the FPS restrictions of the play period they are being used in.
- No hard-tipped ammunition will be permitted. If you can't squeeze the tip together from edge to edge like a taco shell, then it's too hard to use.
- No firm (non-Nerf brand) Rival rounds will be permitted. If you can't squish it, then it's too firm to use.
- Foam melee weapons are permitted to tap-tag other player, unless their foam is too stiff.
- Homeade shields are permitted but subject to game rules.
- DCNC is not responsible for any damaged, lost, or stolen items.
- Please mark any equipment that you are bringing and want to be sure you can say it belongs to you.
• SAFETY INFO •
- All players are required to wear adequate eye protection during gameplay.
- It's recommended that all players bring a drink, dress for the weather, and use sunscreen in the summer.
- Being a player at the event is a physical activity, and so comes with the risks related to participating in physical activities with others. Participating in the event is an aknowledgement of those risks, and the understanding that neither DCNC nor the borough of Middletown will accept responsibility or liability for any personal injuries or illness you might incur while participating in these physical activities with us.
