DCF Bids Farewell to Commissioner Beyer

After years of service to the children, youth, and families of New Jersey, DCF Commissioner Christine Norbut Beyer is preparing to depart her role leading the Department of Children and Families. Please join us to celebrate her contributions to New Jersey's child welfare system, bid farewell, and extend best wishes for the future.

Since 2018, Commissioner Beyer has led DCF, emphasizing prevention, innovation, shared leadership and family support initiatives. She played a key role in negotiating New Jersey's exit from a 20-year-old federal lawsuit settlement concerning child welfare practice.. Additionally, under her guidance, the department launched several important initiatives to transform child welfare in the state and to position New Jersey as a national leader in the child- and family-serving arena.

Commissioner Beyer's mentorship, encouragement, and dedication to child welfare transformation has resulted in advancement of a systemwide and statewide vision, in which all New Jersey residents can be safe, healthy, and connected.

We appreciate Commissioner Beyer's exceptional leadership and wish her success in her future endeavors. While her presence will be missed, we look forward to supporting her as she embarks on this new phase of her professional journey.
