DC Writers' Salon: Agent & Author Q&A with Hayley Fleming
About this Event
If you're a writer navigating the often arduous experience of publishing, this event is for you. The DC Writer's Salon A&A Q&A (Agent & Author Question & Answer) series provides writers with opportunities to hear from experienced folks on different facets of the publishing world.
This fall, we're featuring Hayley Fleming, a second-generation novelist who published her first novel in July.
Hayley Fleming grew up in Florida, where she was raised by two novelists and surrounded by alligators and English professors. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science and music from Amherst College. Nowadays, she lives in Washington, D.C., doing nonprofit work by day and writing rom-coms by night. Hayley’s debut novel, THIGHS WIDE SHUT, released July 21, 2026 from The Dial Press and Quercus. Hayley is represented by Catherine Bradshaw at Writers House.
We'll start with snacks and refreshments, our guest speaker will give a 30 minute talk, then we'll follow that with a Q&A discussion and mingling.

Based in Dupont, the DC Writers' Salon is a studio and community for writers. The Salon helps us make space and time for what we love to do: write. But more than that, it invites us to engage with the otherwise solo, and sometimes grueling, process of writing in a way that's more connected and accountable. Learn more at DCWritersSalon.com.
