Dayton: A Study In Psalms--Psalm 9 and 10

Much of the life of the Shepherd-King of Israel was not a complacent one--he lived often on the run from those who sought to destroy him. His one constant solace was the provision and protection of the Lord Who made Him, Who discerned the thoughts and intents of the heart, and Who promised that He would one Day destroy the wicked and save those whose hope is in His unfailing love.

Psalm 8 declared the majesty of such a Creator King. Psalm 9 records the thanksgiving of David to his Shepherd, and Psalm 10 is yet another reminder that while we wait for wrong to be made right, no matter what the circumstances look like, we can still put our hope in the King Who reigns forever and ever, Who will hear the desire of the afflicted, encourage them, and listen to their cry.
