Basic Shamanic Journeying Series
At Ayurveda Natural Health Center Saturday July 11th and 18th 9am-5pm
$250 if purchased before June 26th, or $275 after that date.
Shamanism is a practice, not a religion. It enhances rather than replaces one’s own spiritual practices. Core shamanism uses techniques common across the globe among many diverse cultures, each of whom has a unique spiritual practice and lived experience.. This workshop will introduce students to the cornerstone of core shamanic practice- the spirit journey. Students will learn how to focus their awareness inward and communicate directly with their individual allies and helpers. Praying is asking, meditation is listening, and journeying is doing both simultaneously while in a light trance state. People of all backgrounds and religious practices are welcome to come and explore this modality, learning these ancient tools to help heal contemporary issues.
Benefits of Shamanic journeying- -Facilitates a direct connection to personal spirit allies -Tool for self healing, life guidance, spiritual awareness, boundary manifestation -Enriching and strengthening current personal paths and modalities

Through journeys, light trances, the querent interacts with the shamanic landscape and spirit allies for healing and help for many facets of life issues. Journeying can support healing by completing the mind-body-spirit continuum. It can support but does not replace science-based and other healing modalities.
Specifics- There will be two in-person sessions for learning and practicing journeywork, plus a recorded informational video and a little bit of ‘homework’ to be completed between sessions to help students begin to integrate the practice into their lives.
Michelle Sampson has been journeying since 1998. In 2000, she completed the advanced Shamanic series of classes with Bekki and Crow at Dragonwaters. She completed teacher certification training in 2019 with Bekki. She has been honored to receive wisdom from these and other teachers such as the late Miss Beatrice Waight (Mayan), Wendell Humphrey(Shoshone), Sarangarel (Buriyat/Mongolian), Ramón López (Taino/Puerto Rican) and others.
Careers in theatre design and technology, as well as in elementary and post-secondary education helped her develop teaching methodology and creative problem solving. Her upbringing in a Midwestern 'blue collar’ household instilled an earthy pragmatism which helps ground the ethereal nature of spirit work. She practices core shamanism and works with whichever members of the rainbow tribe seek her help (and with whichever spirit allies show up to help.) Her culture of origin is mainstream American and genetically she is of Welsh/Irish/Orcadian/Hebridean ancestry and works mainly within these cosmologies and with those of her individual clients.
