About this Event

Day of the Dead Cultural Festival 2026

The Embassy of Mexico in the United Kingdom warmly invites you to join us in celebrating Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), one of Mexico’s most cherished traditions, honouring the memory of those who have passed away and celebrating the enduring bonds between memory, culture and identity.

This event will feature Dr Elizabeth Baquedano, renowned Mexican archaeologist and academic at University College London (UCL), who will examine pre-Hispanic funerary rituals and beliefs surrounding death, tracing their transformation over time and exploring the cultural influences that have shaped contemporary Day of the Dead celebrations in Mixquic (Mexico City)

We invite you to join us in celebrating a tradition that honours the past, embraces the present and keeps the memory of our loved ones alive.
