The Day of the Dead (el Día de Muertos), is a Mexican holiday where families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion that includes food, drink, and celebration. A blend of Mesoamerican ritual, European religion, and Spanish culture, the holiday is celebrated each year on the 1st and 2nd of November.
This year, Urban Hands is again proudly holding our annual Day of the Dead Festival to fill an entire week with events for all ages, celebrating ALL the beautiful cultures of Latin America. The events will be entertaining, educational, and inspirational, so be sure to check this page as we update the schedule with events for the Day of the Dead Festival and Latin Week celebrations!
- Sat. 1 Nov, 15:00-19:00, Folken - Tianguis de Día de Muertos - Food and Culture Bazaar: Join us as we celebrate and honor the lives of those who have passed. We will celebrate this beloved Mexican tradition with an art exhibition, altars to commemorate our loved ones, activities for children and families, piñatas and delicious authentic Mexican food.
- Sat. 1 Nov, 20:00 (Doors open 19:30), Folken - Day of the Dead Concert - Join this incredible evening and celebrate El Día de Muertos with us, dancing to and enjoying music by Mexican and Latin-American musicians in Stavanger!
We're proud to present this year's headliner: ChiPeCo
As well as other local artists like Los Muertos, Los Twangheads! and open Salsa and Cumbia dance sessions!
