We get to vote on which 4 of their favorite workshops we’d like to do as a community :)
Options:
1. Connection - how to make your dances more fun
In this workshop, we learn the basics of connection and frame and what it means to connect to your partner successfully, as well as how to change direction and move down line without any choppy motion.
2. Baseball throws - pitch a no hitter without needing shoulder surgery
In this workshop we learn the theory behind ALL baseball throws. Not just learning the cool moves but why they work and how to make all our own personal moves much better. As well as a slick new throw u havnt seen.
3. Threading - the martial arts of dancing.
Here we learn some great threading moves as well as what they really are, and how they fit into our dance. The right times and places to do them. And how they can be used to continue a combo.
4. Creating improv moments - don't be stingy!
Here we learn how to creat moments (as a lead) in the dance to give time and space for a follow to do thier thing! As well as teach some follows a few easy imp
5. Creating a combo - don't be a weak link!
Learn how to string together complex move sets and structure your practice time on the dance floor. Start with a good plan, have 3 escape routes. and let your muscle memory do the work.
6. Dips! - dont be a 1 trick pony!
In this workshop we go over 3-4 different types of dips. How they feel different in the music and how to use frame to create motion, and fill space in your dips.
7. Surviving a social dance - defense against the dark arts!
Here we learn the most common mistakes or bad techniques we run into on the dance floor and how to mitigate them in our dance. As well as how to adjust to someone who dances one of the MANY different styles of country swing around the U.S.
8. Musicality
Phrase change. What is it. How does it feel in music. How to know its coming. Being early and hitting the small moments to fit correctly.
