About the show:

Pianist and composer David Rodgers returns to the stage as leader for the first time in over a year to present his newest release & 3rd studio album “Home.” Joined by longtime musical companions, Emmanuel Echem (trumpet), Jay White (bass), and Marcus Finnie (drums), the night will also feature a range of special guests. David’s newest album explores the meaning of “Home” through 10 new compositions, largely composed and recorded at home during the pandemic. Be part of this special night & get your tickets while you can!

California native David Rodgers is one of the most in-demand session musicians & arrangers in Nashville’s vibrant music scene today. He has performed or recorded with artists including Peter Frampton, Keb Mo, Taj Mahal, Ricky Skaggs, Gabby Barrett, Gavin DeGraw, Joss Stone, Michael Tait, Ben Rector, Cody Fry, & Kirk Whalum; and has also recorded on numerous records including Keb’ Mo’s Grammy-winning Oklahoma (2019).

He has performed worldwide at the Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, and the Playboy Jazz Festival, among many others. His compositions and arrangements span multiple genres, have been performed internationally, and have aired on network television including ESPN and the SEC Network.

David holds a bachelor of music degree from Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music where he pursued both classical and jazz piano performance, and holds a masters of music degree from Belmont University where he studied commercial composition.

Prior to “Home” (2025), he has previously released two albums as a leader: his 2017 genre-bending, debut project Songs For A Generation; as well as his 2019 album, Doorways. He currently serves as Executive Director at the Nashville Jazz Workshop.
