This class is about understanding how to build one.
Join David Chizek for a 4-hour hands-on Cutting With Intention experience designed to help you better understand the decisions behind great haircutting.
We’ll explore shape, foundation, weight, movement, technique selection, and how to combine those elements intentionally to create haircuts that work for the individual client in your chair.
David will demonstrate and explain his process while you work hands-on alongside him, with individual coaching, conversation, and plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the class.

Shape + Foundation
Understand how the foundation creates the roadmap for everything that follows.
Technique + Decision Making
Learn what techniques to choose, when to use them, and most importantly, why.
Movement + Personalization
Explore how different techniques can be combined to create movement, texture, weight, and shape intentionally.
Dry Cutting + Refinement
Learn how to evaluate the haircut once it’s dry, make thoughtful adjustments, and personalize the finished result.
Hands-On Coaching
Work alongside David with individual guidance and open Q&A throughout the class.

WHAT TO BRING
Come ready to work hands-on. Please bring your everyday cutting and styling kit:
● Cutting shears
● Texturizing shears
● Razor + replacement blades
● Cutting combs
● Sectioning clips
● Water bottle / spray bottle
● Blow dryer
● Styling brushes
● Flat iron
● Curling iron
● Extension cord, if needed
● Mannequin head stand
● Notebook + pen if you’re a note taker
Your Pivot Point Mannequin head will be provided and is yours to keep.
Please feel free to bring the tools you are most comfortable working with. This class isn’t about using one specific tool or cutting one specific way — it’s about understanding why, when, and how to make the choices that create the result you’re looking for.
THE CLASS DOESN’T END WHEN YOU LEAVE
About six weeks after class, we’ll reconnect virtually for a one-hour follow-up session.
By then, you’ve had time to take what you’ve learned back behind the chair and actually use it.
Bring your questions, your wins, your challenges, and anything you’d like to revisit. We’ll talk about what clicked, what you’re still working through, and clarify the questions that only come up once you’ve tried it yourself.
Because sometimes the most valuable questions don’t happen during class.
They happen after you’ve put what you learned to work.
The goal isn’t for you to leave knowing one more haircut.
It’s for you to leave more confident in how you approach all of them.
