The Band Who Fell to Earth has been playing Bowie’s music for over 13 years. And now, after a Covid-induced hiatus, they have roared back to Atlanta stages with a new voice, new songs, and a new attitude! The Band Who Fell to Earth proudly claim their reputation as “the Bowie tribute for Bowie lovers”. They play music from his entire career – the songs you’d expect, and songs that might surprise you – with enthusiasm and energy. They pay homage to all of the personas of Mr. Bowie - From Ziggy to the Thin White Duke. From The Pierrot to Halloween Jack. Vocalist Christina Leidel, aka “The Cracked Actor”, creates a powerful onstage persona as she channels Bowie’s theatricality with her multi-octave vocal range. The imminently versatile Kath “Fiddlesticks” Fidler sweetens the mix with her saxes and allsorts. Rob “The Axe-Grinder” Dwyer brings his 6-string assault while keyboardist Allen “Dr. Z” Welty-Green brings his sonic atmospheres. The mighty rhythm section is anchored by Bill “The Sommerizer” Sommers on drums and Jeff Tyson, aka the honorable “Lord Charles Kinbote”, on bass.For this event, they will be joined by the Hounds of Love. Atlanta’s best (and only) Kate Bush tribute, The Hounds began when Audrey Gamez, their talented and evocative vocalist, reached out to no one in particular, asking “who is gonna write that Kate Bush musical and ask me to star in it?” To which keyboardist Allen Welty-Green (from The Band Who Fell to Earth) replied “be careful what you wish for!” Within short order, they had recruited a team of simpatico musicians, including drummer Bill Sommer and bassist/guitarist Rob Dwyer (also from The Band Who Fell to Earth), along with the inimitable Marva Rodriguez (from Heartisans) on piano and additional vocals. They began to dive deep into Kate’s repertoire and their set spans her entire career, from her early innocent ballads to her sophisticated art-rock opuses. Translating Kate’s ethereal and sophisticated music into a live setting has been their primary mission. The Hounds make it happen with elegance and theatricality.
