Date on Purpose: Summer Social (Ages 25-35)

It’s 2026 …. and dating has gotten WEIRD.
Remember dating before social media and dating apps? That awkward moment when you called the house phone to ask someone out on a date... and their mom or dad were always the ones who picked up first?
Or meeting someone at the local bar because that's just what you did?
Meh - Neither do I... and I was born before 1990. 🤷♀️
Before a first date, we can scroll through someone's photos, read their bio, deep dive their Instagram, analyze their text messages, accidentally find photos from 2018, and conduct what can only be described as a full FBI investigation... all before we've even said hello.
And with all that information, we've convinced ourselves that we know exactly who someone is.
Spoiler alert. You usually don’t. 🤯
We swipe.
We compare.
We overthink.
We spend weeks texting someone we've never met while trying to decode whether "Haha 😂" means they're interested... or just really enthusiastic about punctuation.
We send screenshots to the group chat for consensus, listen to all the dating podcasts, watch the TikTok gurus, and wonder whether we should wait two hours or two days before replying.
It’s no wonder dating feels more like calculus homework than something we're actually meant to enjoy doing.
So let me propose something…👇
What if, just for one evening, we stopped trying to outsmart dating?
What if we put our phones away, stopped trying to "solve for soulmate," and simply gave ourselves the chance to experience another human being?
Because sometimes something magical happens...
The people we'd never swipe right on sometimes end up being the ones we can't stop thinking about.
That's exactly why I created Date on Purpose.
Not because I think dating apps are all kinds of evil.
I simply wanted to create the kind of evening that's become surprisingly rare—especially if you were born any time after 1999.
A place where meeting someone feels... human again.
