WONDEROUS STORIES & FRIENDS PLAYS PAUL McCARTNEY'S 1ST & 2ND SOLO ALBUMS
UDATE: Steve Holley who played with Paul McCartney with Wings on the "Back to the egg" album will be a special guest playing a few from that album and other select songs.
2nd UPDATE: 2 Beatle freaks from the band"Lovesong" will be joining us. "Lovesong" is one of the most popular bands on the Island playing 80's songs. Maybe we'll slip one of those in too!
Picture the music scene in 1970. The biggest band in the world"The Beatles" had just broken up and the world was heartbroken.
People were waiting for any word for Beatles music.
On April 17th 1970 Paul McCartney released "McCartney" . It was an album that showcased Paul playing every instrument and writing and singing every song. Although it wasn't The Beatles it was arguably the most popular Beatle. George Harrison released an album later that year and so did John Lennon.
On May 17th 1971 Paul McCartney released his 2nd solo album "Ram"
Although this album got mixed reviews originally , it is now considered one of his best solo efforts and many consider it one of the best rock albums of all time.
On April 9TH 2025 , Wonderous Stories will play the 55th anniversary of "McCartney” & the 54th anniversary of "Ram" by playing both albums in their entirety.
The band will use the core members and add a few guest musicians including Ed Ryan .
If you know Wonderous Stories then you know this will not be taken as just another show. This will be very special and sentimental especially for McCartney fans and fans of classic music that has changed the music world.
