About this Event

Empowering Agentic AI Through Reliable Data to Unlock Public Service Wins

Malaysia is accelerating its AI ambitions through the National AI Action Plan 2026–2030, positioning data, digital infrastructure and AI capabilities as core pillars of national development.

For public sector organisations, AI offers faster, smarter decisions, improved services and more efficient operations. Yet, without strong data governance, secure integration and trusted systems, these benefits remain aspirational.

The real challenge is not the technology itself, but ensuring AI is built on high-quality, accessible and responsibly managed data. Many agencies still grapple with fragmented systems and limited computing resources, making it difficult to scale AI effectively.

Data sharing also presents a persistent challenge, as agencies must balance privacy protection with the need for reliable, accessible datasets. Combined with ongoing concerns around explainability and accountability, these gaps can slow AI adoption and reduce confidence in autonomous decision-making.

Agentic AI is reshaping how the public sector can operate. Unlike traditional automation, these intelligent systems can autonomously manage tasks, integrate insights from multiple sources and make decisions that span workflows and departments.

When supported by reliable data and strong governance, Agentic AI can drive operational efficiency, improve policy execution and enable faster responses to public needs. Without these foundations, however, autonomous systems risk amplifying inequities and operational challenges, limiting their potential impact.

While AI can boost productivity and automate routine tasks, its benefits often remain isolated rather than delivering organisation-wide impact. To realise its potential, agencies must master data orchestration by connecting high-quality data, AI agents and decision-makers across departments.

By creating workflows that are seamless, accountable and interoperable, AI-driven insights can translate into coordinated action, faster policy implementation and tangible outcomes that truly benefit citizens.

This session will allow delegates to:

  • UNDERSTAND how Agentic AI can operate across departments and workflows to deliver measurable public sector value.
  • ESTABLISH trusted, governed and analytics-ready data foundations that enable scalable and responsible AI adoption.
  • DESIGN AI-driven workflows that integrate data, human decision-makers and systems for coordinated, real-time action.
  • ACCELERATE policy execution, operational efficiency and responsiveness while mitigating risk.
  • ADDRESS strategic, ethical and operational challenges to embedding AI sustainably across government agencies.
