Synopsis: This play features the infamous "Ghost of Canterville", who haunts an old English country estate. Since Mr Northstate bought the castle and moved in with his wife and children, the ghost's centuries-old intimidation methods methods of intimidation have only been able to frighten the housekeeper. The unshakably matter-of-fact family treats the ghost with insulting indifference. Indeed, the clever eldest son and the disrespectful twins turn the tables and play one prank after another on the unfortunate ghost. Only the daughter Virginia shows him sincere compassion. She succeeds in redeeming Sir Habakuk's restless spirit. Based on the novella by Oscar Wilde, the play, with its sharply outlined characters and its ironic humour mixed with movingly serious undertones towards the end, is a fantastic experience for young people and adults alike.
