Introducing Darkside Music & Darkside Fest: A New Era of Music and CommunityWe’re beyond excited to introduce Darkside Music, a new music touring and booking company founded by Chris Olliffe, and Damon Renes from Wollongong metalcore band Alienist as well as Leah Fishburn, a passionate event coordinator. We’ve spent years immersed in the Australian music scene, and we’ve come together to create something truly special for both artists and fans.
Darkside Music is all about breaking boundaries, supporting both local and established artists, and creating unforgettable experiences for all involved. Our mission is to provide artists with the opportunities they deserve, to help them bring their vision to life, and to offer fans an experience that reignites the spark we’ve all felt at live shows. At the heart of it all, we want to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone who joins us.
With backgrounds ranging from band members of @alienistaus to working with high-profile industry professionals, we’re all about reinventing the music experience. We’ve learned the ins and outs of the music world, and we’re now bringing that expertise to the forefront with Darkside Fest.
On April 26, 2025, we’re bringing Darkside Fest to the Wollongong Unibar, and it’s going to be an experience you won’t want to miss. Headlined by Hyperpop-Metal giants Windwaker who just came wrapped up their brand new album tour for “Hyperviolence” & supported by Aussie Pop-Metalcore band Melrose Avenue on their first ever Australian live show.
Followed by the likes of UNFD’s Alienist, Pioneers of the Australian emo movement Sienna Skies, Sydney legends Heists, Canberra powerhouse St.Sinner, Emo and punk talent from Father Deer Hands, rising Nu-Metalcore Flow Kobra, Symphonic Progressive Metal Deathbeds & a local contest winner.
This festival has a special place in our heart & is dedicated to the memory of Chris’ late sister Mikaila Brisbane. Mikaila sadly passed away in 2020 from Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (ASPS), which is an extremely rare cancer disease. Mikaila always pushed Chris to chase his dream & was a strong believer that he would do something special in the music industry. We have partnered with Sony Foundation youth cancer initiative, ‘You Can’ in the memory of Mikaila as they greatly assisted her and welcomed her to the ‘You Can Family’.
Whether you’re into anything metal, alternative or out of the box Darkside Fest will be your new home for raw energy, community, and good vibes. This is just the beginning, and we’re so excited to share this journey with you all. See you on April 26!
