About this Event
Dark Waters Screening plus Q&A with Rye Howard
Concerned about forever chemicals affecting our waterways and health? Join HooRWA in a free public screening of Dark Waters, a docudrama based on the true story of corporate defense attorney Robert Bilott who takes on an environmental lawsuit against the chemical company DuPont, exposing a lengthy history of pollution in a West Virginia town.
After the film Rye Howard will answer questions about PFAS, PFOAs, and concerns brought up in the film as she served as an expert witness for the actual case brought against DuPont.
Rye Howard is an environmental public health scientist with training and expertise in epidemiology, toxicology, and research translation. She is especially interested in how to use scientific information to create effective chemicals policy that protects the environment and public health.
Come watch the film at UNO Community Center at 157 River Street in North Adams MA on Tuesday March 24 at 6:00pm. Pizza will be provided, thanks in part to Williams College Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives.
(Inclement weather date: Tuesday, March 31.)
This event is free and open to the public and is made possible by a grant from the Cultural Council of Northern Berkshire, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
