DARK ROOM recreate the music and visual aspect of Aussie rock icons, ‘THE ANGELS’ (ANGEL CITY – in USA), capturing the same high energy and keeping alive the tradition of classic Aussie pub rock. DARK ROOM play all the favourites (and more), of The Angels, from their First (self titled) Album through to the last studio album,1997's "Skin & Bone". With fastidious reproductions of hits such as ‘Am I ever gonna see your face again?’, ‘Take a long line’, ‘No Secrets’, ‘Fashion & Fame’, ‘We Gotta Get Outta This Place’, ‘Let the night roll on’, through to ‘Caught in the night’ (from ‘Skin & Bone’) and many more. Along with the effervescent & charasmatic frontman, Brendan (BJ) Vernal, portraying THE ANGELS "Doc Neeson" with Steve Harvey stationary, as per "Rick Brewster" through-out each show and the perfection of the rhythm section (Peppi Maio – 2nd Lead Guitar, George Milhe – Bass Guitar and Nick Hunt – Drums) with complementary backing vocals, would have you believe you were at an Angels show. 2025 has the band celebrating 25 years of DARK ROOM paying tribute to THE ANGELS.

BIO In late 1999 four guys came together to form a Classic Rock cover band and just play a handle of shows from time to time. Denis (Guitar) had filled in for one of BJ’s bands some years prior and after contacting George and Peter (drums), Denis phoned BJ and a band was formed. Early in 2000, BJ and Denis were discussing the future of the band, which to this point was very exciting, but one lot of cover songs stood out. BJ put forward to Denis about possibly doing an ANGELS Tribute, which Denis replied “he had been thinking along the same lines”. BJ also mentioned calling the Band DARK ROOM, Denis liked the name NO EXIT (The ANGELS 3rd Album), but was partial to the name DARK ROOM. After discussing the idea of an ANGELS Tribute Show with George and Peter, and BJ mentioning the fact that The ANGELS album of the same name, contained their only Number 1 single, NO SECRETS and that the guys first meeting was interrupted by a blackout, everyone agreed on the name DARK ROOM. Unfortunately, before the band got too far down the track, Peter left and soon after Nick Hunt came in. It wasn’t long before a Rhythm guitarist (Graham) came in, to free BJ up form the 2nd Guitar role, leaving BJ to concentrate on the lead vocals, and studying the role of Doc Neeson.
There has been many a change with the line up over the years, but BJ has been the stalwart. Both George and Nick were only gone for a short time (thankfully), before returning and with the current line-up, DARK ROOM will be putting on as many shows as possible to celebrate 25 years of the band through-out 2025 and into 2026.
