About this Event
Inclusive storytelling has become an essential part of contemporary filmmaking and television work. But moving from intention to practice can be challenging.
Daring New Narratives is a three-part lecture series designed by Vic So Hee Alz to support filmmakers and screen creatives in developing more inclusive, thoughtful and complex storytelling approaches. The sessions invite you to question familiar tropes, unlearn unconscious biases and explore new narrative perspectives.
Across three two-hour evening lectures, Vic will guide participants through discussion, analysis and best-practice examples from film and television. Together, we will look at how stories are framed, whose perspectives are centred and how creative choices can either challenge or reinforce existing power structures.
This series is ideal for filmmakers, writers, directors, producers and anyone interested in more responsible and daring screen storytelling.
