Calling all Upper Pittsgrove residents and friends! On Saturday, September 12, 2026, there will be a Daretown Day festival to celebrate our Upper Pittsgrove community and America’s 250th Anniversary! This will involve all-day festivities including a 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk at 8AM, a parade through Daretown at 10AM, a veterans ceremony at 12PM, a festival on the grounds of the Daretown School from 12PM-4PM, and a patriotic music concert at 4PM. Some of you may have attended the last Daretown Day celebration which was held in 2016. Now ten years later, we hope to once again draw the community together for this special day.
The day will begin at 8AM with our first Daretown Day 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk! Enjoy a peaceful walk to Daretown Lake or run down our country roads! Both events begin at Pittsgrove Baptist Church, 368 Daretown Road, where parking will be available before 8AM. Register in advance at https://runsignup.com/daretown5k. Check In and Registration on the day of the event starts at 7AM. The cost is $20 per runner or $15 per walker (pay with card or exact cash). All registered runners/walkers will receive a FREE commemorative tee-shirt!
The parade will begin at 10AM at the Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church, 312 Daretown Road, and will continue down Daretown Road to Daretown School. If you are part of the Upper Pittsgrove community or the neighboring areas and would like to participate in the parade, please register at https://forms.gle/z2KetsECKDAxwWED. Antique vehicles, tractors, bikes, ATVs, non-profit organizations, and community groups are welcome!
Please Note: Daretown Road will be CLOSED during the parade from 10AM-11AM, so please be sure to arrive before then. The roads will also be closed to thru-traffic throughout the day; please inform the road closure officials that you are a participant and they will let you through! Parking will be available behind Daretown School, at Pittsgrove Baptist Church after 11AM, and at Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church after 11AM. A haywagon shuttle will transport visitors between the parking lots and each of the sites between 11AM to 4PM.
The Veterans Ceremony at 12PM Noon will be held at the Old Pittsgrove Baptist Church, 98 Woodstown-Daretown Road. The brief ceremony will be held in the cemetery, which includes graves of Revolutionary War veterans. The historic 1844 church will also be open for tours from 11AM to 1PM.
The festival on the grounds of the Daretown School, at 404 Daretown Road, will be held from 12PM-4PM. Attractions include food trucks, children’s activities, antique cars, tractors, historical exhibits, vendors, giveaways, and more! The historic Pole Tavern Cannon will also be on display. Commemorative tee-shirts and other merchandise will be for sale, and free souvenir programs will be distributed. The Daretown Fire Station will also be open for visitors. Local businesses, crafters, and non-profit organizations of the Upper Pittsgrove area who would like to display at the festival can sign up at https://forms.gle/K3D6Nqfk2GZ7aG6M7.
The day will close with a Patriotic Concert at 4PM at the Old Pittsgrove Presbyterian Church, featuring brass band music and a sing-along. Wear a historical costume to the concert to win a prize and be part of the group photograph!
