Nizami Bandhu—Ustad Chand Nizami, Shadab Faridi Nizami, and Sohrab Faridi Nizami—belong to a family that has carried forward the 700-year-old qawwali tradition of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya’s dargah. They rose to fame with “Kun Faya Kun” in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar (2011), composed by A.R. Rahman, and later appeared in Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) with the soul-stirring “Aaj Rang Hai” by Amir Khusro. Their lineage has performed for centuries at Indian shrines, private mehfils, weddings, and films—keeping alive the spiritual essence of Sufi qawwali.
