Darb Mseilha is one of Lebanon’s most historic and scenic hiking trails, following the ancient route that once connected the coastal city of Batroun to the inland villages. The trail winds through terraced olive groves, stone farmhouses, and dramatic river valleys, with the magnificent Mseilha Fortress standing as a landmark along the way. Built in the 17th century by Emir Fakhr al-Din II, the fortress is perched on a limestone spur overlooking the Nahr el-Jawz river, offering breathtaking views and a glimpse into Lebanon’s rich history.
We will begin our day with a stop for breakfast before starting an easy walk, taking time to admire the architecture, learn about its history, and capture stunning photos.
