Boston Comedy Legend Mike Donovan (Showtime, WBZ Radio) heads up a killer lineup of Boston favorites in this fundraiser for the Danvers Polish Russian Lithuanian American Citizens' Club, including Paul Nardizzi (Conan, Comedy Central, first Boston Comedy Festival winner), Dave Rattigan (SiriusXM Satellite Radio, NESN) and Boston club favorite Sarah May.
Doors open at 6:30 for a social hour featuring raffles, a cash bar and more. Showtime is 8 p.m.
Mike Donovan, recipient of the Boston Comedy Legacy Award, is from the legendary wave of “Ding Ho Comics” from the 1970s and still has his fastball. The South Boston native works the top clubs in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, and has been featured on The NESN Comedy All-Stars, ESPN’s SportsCenter, Fox’s Best Damn Sports Show Period, and the Showtime network. He was featured in the documentary When Standup Stood Out. He’s also a frequent guest on Boston radio, particularly WBZ.
Paul Nardizzi is one of the country's top comedians, with multiple standup appearances on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Comedy Central, and Fox Sports' Best Damn Sports Show Period, as well as regional appearances on NESN. A former winner of the Boston Comedy Festival, Nardizzi is in demand for theater shows, corporate functions, colleges, golf tournament, and fundraisers. His CD has been played on Sirius Satellite Radio and he’s a prolific author of humor books, including the hilarious Things That Might Annoy ... series, which pokes fun at Yankee fans, Jets fans, Republicans, and Democrats. He also wrote the hilarious 602 Reasons to be Ticked Off and The Sarcastic Sports Trivia Book. He’s currently the headliner for a show he created, The Ranting Parents Comedy Tour.
David Rattigan has performed in top clubs and theaters in the U.S., Japan and Ireland, and performed with The Beach Boys, Bill Burr, Steven Wright, Jeff Dunham and Nick DiPaolo. His CD, Dave Rattigan: Thinks He’s Funny, received airplay on Sirius Satellite Radio and on stations around the world. He’s appeared in television commercials and independent film projects; written funny columns for the Boston Globe, Christian Science Monitor and others; and his video clips have run on Nickmom.com and Rooftop Comedy.
Sarah May is a Boston-based comedian who hides a mischievous sense of humor behind an unsuspecting demeanor. A rising talent on the scene, Sarah is regularly featured at top New England clubs (The Comedy Studio, Don't Tell Comedy) and has performed at comedy festivals around the country, including the Los Angeles Comedy Festival, Plano Comedy Festival, and Portland Maine Comedy Festival.
