Cape Breton singer-songwriter Danny MacNeil will release his new single "Lonely For Now" on May 5, 2026, marking 7 years of sobriety with his most personal song to date. Recorded in 2020 and held onto for years, the song is being released now as part of that milestone. To mark the release, Danny will be playing an intimate show at Doktor Luke's Coffee House in Sydney.Joining him for the evening are local artists Donnie Calabrese and Liv Taylor.
Donnie Calabrese is a musician from Sydney. He has a band with his friends called Mads and the Dads. That group, unsurprisingly, has been described as sounding like Dad Rock. Donnie has been playing off and on for about 20 years. He has a record coming out this year.
Liv Taylor is a local musician born and raised here in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Her love for music started young, being influenced by her parent's collection of 70's and 80's folk and rock albums. She was given her first guitar and lessons at 13 from her grandfather "Papa Ray" and never looked back. Her music is a combination of an indie/folk acoustic sound with deeply personal lyrics, telling story's of life, love, and loneliness; growing up and living on the east coast of Canada as an Igbtqia+ woman.
