Join Brand Ambassador & Art Educator for DANIEL SMITH Artists’ Materials Scott Stevenson for an engaging & informative watercolour demo! This immersive session explores both the artistry and science behind DANIEL SMITH’s renowned watercolour and gouache paints.

Through dynamic discussion, Scott will guide participants through the rich history of DANIEL SMITH, their innovative paint-making process, and the distinctive characteristics that set their colours apart—including the celebrated PrimaTek mineral-based pigments.

Participants will gain a deeper appreciation of key watercolour attributes such as lightfastness, granulation, and pigment behaviour, while exploring the inspiration behind iconic colours like Moonglow and Serpentine. With an open, conversational teaching style, Scott encourages curiosity, creative exploration, and hands-on discovery.

Attendees will leave with a stronger understanding of their materials, practical techniques to elevate their work, and fresh inspiration to expand their creative possibilities.

Materials will be provided with takeaways!

About the Instructor

Scott Stevenson is a Brand Ambassador and Art Educator for DANIEL SMITH Artists’ Materials, known for his engaging, approachable teaching style and deep knowledge of watercolor. With a passion for both the creative and technical sides of painting, Scott helps artists of all levels better understand their materials—from pigment properties to color behavior—while encouraging exploration and confidence in their work. Through workshops, demonstrations, and industry outreach, he brings the story and innovation of DANIEL SMITH to life for artists across North America.
