Good Shepherd is excited to host Rev. Angela Denker: Lutheran pastor, award-winning journalist, and the author of "Red State Christians" and "Disciples of White Jesus." Rev. Denker will share her research and insight into the intersection of politics, culture, and Christian Nationalism, helping us better understand the challenges and opportunities facing the church and our country today.
The event will feature a 45–60 minute presentation followed by a Q&A session, offering space for honest conversation and reflection. All are welcome—come ready to listen, learn, and engage!
Christian Nationalism merges Christian and America identities with the hope of creating a theocracy: a type of government in which Christian beliefs become law for all citizens, regardless of their own religious convictions. While Christianity and Patriotism are each good and beneficial on their own, the unbreakable fusion of the two ultimately distorts both the Christian faith and America's constitutional identity.
