Larkin Ratliff would describe himself as a historian, while most of the residents of the small town of Locke would describe him as a crazy monster hunter. Which is why when he does not come home one night, they do not go out looking for him right away. But when his loyal dog returns without him, covered in blood that is not hers more questions emerge. What has happened to Larkin, and what exactly is waiting in those woods?
