Experience the very special connection between bellydance and live Arabic music, in this workshop series with Rachael Borek, accompanied by Egyptian multi-instrumentalist Mina Salama playing oud, ney, and bouzouk, and percussionist Medhat Shahin.In the first session, we'll focus on taqasim (improvised solo instrumental performances), including listening skills and musical understanding, plus dance improvisation exercises, to help you dance with relaxed enjoyment :)
And in the second, we will explore a small selection of well-known Egyptian songs, responding to changes in rhythm, energy, and feeling - and discuss the differences needed in our approach to dancing to a song with musicians, vs dancing to a recording.

Course fee: £60 for both classes
