Join us as the 10th Anniversary of the Dancing While Black Fellowship kicks off with a community gathering inspired by this season's theme: Legacies in Action.

A Dancing While Black (DWB) tradition, innovative members of the DWB community will share their stories, including Eva Yaa Asantewaa, Nigel Campbell, Aimee Cox, Jonathan Gonzalez, Dyane Harvey-Salaam and Jason Samuels Smith. And then we will hear from one another! Story Circles is a democratic process of storytelling created by John O’Neal of the Free Southern Theater, and will be co-facilitated by Wendi Moore-O’Neal (John O’Neal’s daughter) and DWB Founder Paloma McGregor.
DWB Story Circles launches a series of events celebrating the 10th Anniversary of its Dancing While Black Fellowship, culminating in two nights of performance by this year’s DWB Fellows. Join us as we amplify Dancing While Black's Legacies in Action all season!
Dancing While Black's Story Circles is presented by Angela’s Pulse in collaboration with 651Arts and curated by Dancing While Black Co-Directors, Paloma McGregor, Jade Charon Robertson, Joya Powell, Kayla Hamilton.

About Dancing While Black
The Dancing While Black platform was founded in 2012 to support community-building and innovation among Black dance experimenters. DWB has supported 41 emerging Black artists as Fellows, incubated more than 35 new works, produced a landmark digital journal by and for Black dance innovators and piloted a leadership-development program that shifted the platform successfully to a co-directorship model.
