Somatics · improvisation · imagination work · instant composition · butoh · collective and critical reflexion
Contamination, accumulation, patriarchal domination, speed, dispossession, non-reciprocity, inequality. All of this shapes our daily lives and the way we interact. Capitalism establishes a specific relationship that penetrates our land, our bodies, our sources of life, through exploitation and often abuse. We open a dance workshop to situate ourselves between capitalist industry, the market, and our intimate relationships dancing between theoretical ideas and concrete flesh.
How do these global dynamics manifest in our bodies, our memories, and our intimate experiences?
Coming from dance and anthropology, we have developed a socio-poetic methodology: through experimental workshops and laboratories, crossing dance, philosophy, anthropology and poetry. Our methodology draws on Butoh, somatics, reading practices, instant composition and mapping. We create conditions in which people can sense how capitalism choreographs us: how it shapes our attention, desires, rhythms and relations, and how it connects our intimate lives to wider systems of extraction and consumption. We are interested in the intimate not as a private space outside politics, but as one of the places where these systems become embodied: in our desires, attachments, habits, ways of touching, caring and relating.
Our scores offer structure without prescribing movement, giving the body and intuition space to become choreographic agents.
Purpose of the practice:
- sense and reflect about society through dance and broaden our movement or artistic research
- give time & tools to support your self-reflection and situate the self in the complexity of the world
- reconnect, trust your intuition and unfold imagination and creativity
Daily program (5h of practice):
- warm-up and anatomical exploration
- somatic dive and tracing body sensations between individual and society
- collective reading in movement establishing relation between dance and words
- scores for collective improvisations and performances
- sharing and mind mapping
Open to dancers, artists, and anyone curious about the intersections of body, politics, and poetics. Multilingual teaching according to the group's needs.
