About this Event
6:30 pm: Class with Rabbi Jenna OR Happy Hour
7:30 pm: Service and dancing
Simchat Torah, which means “Rejoicing in Torah,” is the day when we gather to renew ourselves as we begin the cycle of reading from Genesis once again. Let loose and dance like no one’s watching as you enjoy live music, themed cocktails and mocktails, and lively circle dancing on I Street, led by Sixth & I’s rabbis and musicians.
Before the main event, choose from taking a class with Rabbi Jenna diving into the holiday and exploring the first few lines of the Torah, or get social and meet new people at our happy hour.
Class: Creating Creation
On Simchat Torah, we read the very first lines of Torah, including the radical Jewish idea that every human being is created in the image of God. But what does that actually mean—for our lives, our relationships, and for those who don’t believe in God at all? Explore these big questions and more through a text study with Rabbi Jenna.
