Whirling is a profound practice that connects our innermost being-ness with the turning of the planets. It is a purification ritual and benefits the nervous system regardless of how fast or slow you turn. Whirling is a vital piece of the Dancemeditation™ practice and on this Solstice evening, we will come together with the sole purpose of Whirling together.The session will begin with Opening Sequence (lead/follow style movement) followed by some Free Dance time (individual movement exploration). As the sun sets and the longest night of the year begins, whirling guidance will be offered and we will whirl in 2 groups. One group Whirling while the other group holds space. You don’t have to whirl the whole time. There will be time to rest and chanting to close the evening.
NOTES ON PARTICIPATION
For your own comfort, please be conscious of what you put into your body starting in the morning. You may want to limit your caffeine to the minimum needed to face the world. No alcohol or other substances. Limit your sugar. Lighter foods are best.
Attire: Barefoot, comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely standing and on the floor, and a circle skirt or veil, if you want. Not rquired.
Sliding scale, Pay from the Heart: $15-$60 Those who can pay more support those who cannot.
