Dance Leaders Level 5

Candidates must attend all sessions:

Sunday 22nd September 10am-1pm (Pre Course)

Monday 14th - Friday 18th October - 9am-5pm

The qualification requires full attendance at all the course days and an additional 21 hours of self-study. On the first day of the course (September 22nd) tasks will be given which must be completed prior to attending the full week as part of the self-study commitment. In addition to this there will be approximately 1 hour of self-study given each night from Monday 14th – Friday 18th October

Upon successful completion of the course candidates will receive a certificate of qualification and 7 credits awarded by the Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework. Full attendance at the course is required.

The Schools Sport Coaching Project, supported by the Gannochy Trust, offers Perth and Kinross Council School Pupils the opportunity to undertake introductory sports coaching/leadership qualifications. This is a great way to develop communication and leadership skills, build confidence, gain recognised qualifications and get some experience in sports coaching.

Terms & Conditions As part of the project, you will be expected to volunteer at least 20 hours in a school or community club setting. Your active schools co-ordinator (who is based at your school) can help you find a local placement. These hours can also be assigned to other awards (e.g. Duke of Edinburgh, Saltire Award)

School Staff will not be present during the course

It is your own responsibility to arrange your own travel arrangements

Courses may involve work before, during and after the course which must be completed in order to gain the qualification

The course is only available to pupils who attend Perth and Kinross Council schools and are in S4, S5 and S6.

You will receive email notification through our eventbrite registration process of your confirmed place on the course

You must inform the organiser if you are unable to do the course at least one week before (where possible) so your child’s place can be offered to someone else. If you fail to attend without informing the organiser you will be charged the full value of the course and no refunds can be provided
