Meadow Makers is a melodic and vocal driven folk duo from Northwest Arkansas, comprised of Dana Louise and Noah Richmond. Their diverse musical backgrounds and shared love of songwriting have brought them together to create a fresh and unique twist on the traditional folk sound. Through their songwriting, arrangements, and musicality, Meadow Makers strives to create a deeper connection with their listeners. Meadow Makers hopes their music gives the listener some time to think, reflect, and create positive change in themselves. They hope you walk away, into life, feeling refreshed and hopeful for the future.
Says Don Richmond, Society Hall board member and Alamosa musician and record producer, “Some of you may remember the wonderful band “Dana Louise and the Glorious Birds”, who played Alamosa a couple of times. It was a fabulous lineup, with Dana's dad Ezra Idlet and Keith Grimwood (aka Trout Fishing in America) serving as the rhythm section on drums and bass, joined by Adams Collins (Arkansauce) on banjo and vibes.” Richmond continues, “Great players all, but Dana brought the magic – that certain something that mesmerizes and captivates. I can't wait to see these folks!”
Meadow Makers will actually be spending the week prior to their Society Hall show recording a new album in Richmond's Howlin' Dog Records recording studio. Joining them to help with the recording and production of the album, as well as the Society Hall performance, are a couple of other nationally known luminaries of the New Folk scene, David Moss of The Brother Brothers, and Fritz Hutchison and Fritz and Sons. Songwriter, Cellist, Composer, Producer and one half of The Brother Brothers, David Moss has been an internationally performing musician for over 20 years. He currently resides in Miami, FL. Fritz Hutchison is a multi-instrumentalist and leader of the group Fritz and Sons based in Kansas City. Fritz and Sons bring a rhythm-forward take on country music blending influences from Ozark old-time, Louisiana honky tonk, the gritty funk of Levon Helm and the cosmic tenderness of Micheal Hurley. Moss and Hutchison will play some songs on their own, as well as joining Meadow Makers.
The Society Hall board, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a place for community celebrations of all kinds, invites everyone to join them in the hall, at 400 Ross Avenue in Alamosa for another fabulous night or world-class music and entertainment, with Dana Louise and Meadow Makers, with special guests David Moss and Fritz Hutchison, Friday February 13th at 7:00 PM!
