Biography
Dan DeLouise began a career as an artist in NYC as a commercial illustrator. He is a graduate of Syracuse University, and a recipient of several scholarships for outstanding achievements. He’s had the pleasure and good fortune of a successful illustration career, painting professionally for more than 25 years. Mr. DeLouise has had the honor of being selected to create original postage stamp designs to commemorate the Coalition during the Gulf War, and the 100th year anniversary of the International Olympic Committee.
His work has been selected for exhibitions at the New York Society of Illustrators and published as a contributing artist in issues of Communication Arts magazine. During his years as a commercial artist rendering works for some of the industry’s most reputable companies, including AMTRAK, ATARI, COCA COLA, HASBRO, MILTON BRADLEY, LUCAS FILMS, REEBOK, Dan found himself developing painting techniques that allowed him to distinguish his work across a broad range of the illustration market.
Dan was recognized as the winner of the 2017 Plein Air CAPA Quick Draw Open Competition, a recipient of the Paul Strisik Memorial Award for excellence in landscape painting by North Shore Art Association, received an Honorable Mention in NY juried show “Colors of the Night”, and artist member of North Shore and Marblehead Art Associations. Recently Dan's work "For Love of You" was featured in the Benedict XVI Institute's "Catholic Arts Today. He received an award for an entry in the Catholic Art Institute's 2021 "Sacred Art Exhibition". Mr. DeLouise is now the artist in residence on Enders Island at the St. Edmund’s Sacred Arts Institute in Mystic CT, as the newest member of a dedicated team committed to furthering the Faith through the Arts in all that is True, Sacred and Beautiful, both inside and outside of the Church.
