DakhaBrakha: The Sound of Free Ukraine
European tour | new album Ptakh
DakhaBrakha is a Ukrainian world music quartet founded at Kyiv’s Dakh Theatre and one of the most powerful cultural voices of today’s free Ukraine. Blending authentic Ukrainian folk music with global rhythms and instruments, the band has performed on leading international stages including Glastonbury, Sziget, Bonnaroo, Roskilde, and many others around the world.
This European tour presents DakhaBrakha’s album Ptakh (“Bird”), released at the end of 2025. The album is inspired by Ukrainian resistance, the strength and resilience of the Ukrainian people, and the support shown by audiences worldwide. Ptakh is a symbol of freedom and the strong, unmistakable voice of Ukraine, now available on all major streaming platforms.
DakhaBrakha defines its style as “ethno-chaos” — a powerful fusion of music, theater, and video art. The concert program features iconic songs such as “Sho z-pod duba,” “Vesna,” and “Ptakh,” with lyrics by renowned Ukrainian writer Serhiy Zhadan, as well as the deeply moving “Plyve Choven,” dedicated to Ukraine’s defenders.
Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, DakhaBrakha’s concerts have become more than performances — they are immersive artistic statements of solidarity, cultural resistance, and support for Ukraine.
