About this Event

Join us for a relaxed and colourful day celebrating one of the garden's most-loved flowers at Dahlia Fest 2026, right in the heart of Nottingham at the Arboretum.

Organised by Nottingham City Council, this free event is all about enjoying the Arboretum's beautiful dahlia border, picking up a few growing tips, and spending time with others who appreciate plants, gardens, and green spaces. There'll be music, creative sessions, and (hopefully) a bit of sunshine too. Whether you're a keen gardener or just fancy a nice day out, you'll be very welcome.

What's happening on the day

  • 10:00 – Event opens. Come along, have a wander, and take in the dahlias at their best.
  • 11:00–13:00 – Botanical drawing (ages 16+, bookable). A calm, guided session with Nottingham Trent University focusing on fine art botanical drawing. £5 per person, limited to 20 places - book your spot below.
  • All day – Free children's craft sessions and lawn games (drop-in).
  • 12:00-12:30 – Talk: All things dahlias. A friendly, practical talk from a dahlia expert.
  • 13:00 – Dahlia care workshop. Tips on how to look after your dahlias and keep them thriving.
