Pt Uday Bhawalkar is a brilliant Dhrupad vocalist and belong to one of Dhrupad's oldest and most illustrious musical lineages (Dagar Vani). Dhrupad is a living and evolving classical music tradition and Uday ji has developed a unique style deeply embedded in raga rasa and bhaav. This brings a creative melodic addition to the precise intonation and pronunciation characteristic to the Dhrupad style.
He will be accompanied on Pakhwaj by Sukhad Munde. Sukhad was born in a musical family of Great Pakhawaj Maestro Pt. Manik Munde. He received inspiration with blessings from the great DadaGurus like Bhakt Ganesh Anna Choudhary and Prof. Pt. Govindrao Deshmukh. Sukhad also received swar-gyan from the well-known Dhrupad Guru Pt. Uday Bhawalkar. He has got many opportunities to accompany great Instrumentalists, Kathak Dancers and Vocalists.
