Dads in Business - Edinburgh | Relaxed Networking (Kids Welcome!)

Business. Kids. Good people. No awkward networking.

Being a dad and running a business — or building a career — can be a bit of a juggling act.

So we’re trying something different.

Dads in Business is a relaxed networking get-together at The Hoxton, Edinburgh, for dads who want to meet other dads in business, make some useful connections and generally have a good time.

And importantly: bring the kids.

Babies, toddlers, older kids and teenagers are all welcome.

There’s no need to sort childcare or sacrifice family time. If it’s your turn with the little one, bring them along! It’s a chance to get out of the house, break up the day and meet some good people while the kids have fun too.

This is deliberately informal.

There are no presentations, sales pitches or awkward 60-second introductions. Come and go as you please, meet other dads and let conversations happen naturally.

Whether you're running your own business, freelancing, building something on the side or working professionally, you're welcome.

The idea is to create a genuine community of dads who understand the slightly chaotic combination of work, business, family and everything else that comes with it.

We want this to be an event where nobody has to choose between spending time with their kids and meeting new people.

Babies, toddlers and teenagers are all welcome. If there's a bit of noise, someone needs feeding or a toddler decides they've had enough of networking — absolutely fine.

That's kind of the point.

You don't need to be there to sell anything.

Come to meet people, swap stories, talk business if you fancy it and hopefully make a few new connections for work, friendship or both.

Dads in Business is hosted by Joshua Dean founder of , an Edinburgh-based business development agency.

A big part of what we do is bringing the right people together and starting conversations. We wanted to create something locally that does the same thing but in a much more relaxed, family-friendly way.

Hopefully this is the start of a regular community for dads in and around Edinburgh.
