Take a walk on the wild side this Father’s Day weekend! 🌲Join the Alliance for Cape Fear Trees and the North Carolina Wildlife Federation for a woodland wander through Ev-Henwood on the Saturday before Father’s Day. From upland deciduous forest to longleaf pine restoration and bottomland cypress swamp, this guided walk explores the rich ecosystems ACFT and NCWF work to protect, preserve, and restore.
Along the way, we’ll visit the legendary Old Gus, the legendary 1,000-year-old cypress standing tall, sturdy, and probably giving peak dad energy. (And yes, dad jokes are highly encouraged. The more tree-mendous, the better.)
Come boost your happy hormones, breathe deep beneath the canopy, and hug a tree or two with us. Whether you’re celebrating being a father, missing one, bringing one, or just enjoy being a fungi in the forest, this is the perfect excuse to get outside and reconnect with nature.
Because nothing says “quality time” like swamp strolls, towering trees, and hearing someone say, “I’m rooting for you.”
Tickets: $10–limited availability!
