Join us at Unity Park in Downtown Ellensburg for the doggiest event in Kittitas County! This dog-centric event has been an Ellensburg tradition for more than 20 years and is a place to celebrate all dogs and put them in the spotlight. Started as a Dachshund-only event, we expanded it to include other breeds. But of course we still have the beloved Dachshund races because nothing is more fun than watching a wiener dog sprint for glory!At JMR, we believe all dogs are special and capable of great things. Even when we take in disabled or troubled animals, we celebrate what they can do instead of focusing on what they can’t. They teach us so much about perseverance and living their best life!
This family-fun event will feature dog-friendly vendors, entertainment, races, costume and dog trick contests, and other contests based on the American Rescue Dog Show. We’ve also added two new categories this year - Best Smile & Best Kisser.
Here are the rest of the categories in which your dog can achieve greatness!
Best Ears: If your dog’s ears are long, tall, wide, or just adorable, enter them in our Best Ears category and get ready to hear the applause!
Best Wiggle Butt: Does your dog shake it like a polaroid picture? Show off their moves in a tail-wagging, bootie-shaking contest!
Best Talker: Your dog has a lot to say. Let them talk to our judges to see who has the best vocal prowess.
Best in Special Needs: Dogs with special needs don’t know they are different from other dogs and just want to live their best life. This category celebrates all that makes them special!
Best Senior: While their muzzles may be gray, they still are young at heart. Tell us why your senior dog is the best!
Best in Rescue: Let’s celebrate what makes rescue dogs special! Tell us how your rescue dog rescued you as well.
